杭州雅思班雅思听力Part 3总是因为超长的选项、冷门的知识和叽叽呱呱的对话，让考鸭闻风丧胆，号称听力部分杀手（没错，不是Part 4），而不少学生表示，大部分内容听不懂，往往听到什么词就选有它的选项，大大方方地当散财童子，让考试费打水漂。
雅思听力 Part 3避坑指南
稍有经验的考鸭应该听说过，原词往往是干扰，可事实也不尽其然，就拿比较新的剑15来说，Test 1-Part 3里的两个长单选答案都在选项中出现原词，而多选题里同义替换的选项却是干扰，不得不说，为了反映大家的真实水平，雅思有在努力颠覆“解题技巧”。
所以，听到原词与否，并不适合用来判断答案是否正确。更何况，选项里的原词你也不一定听全了是不是。
那么怎样才能听出对话里的玄机，怎样才能巧妙避开干扰又不误伤正确答案，这里敲黑板给大家巩固一个“小众”却运用广泛的知识点——虚拟语气，它在听力Part 3中频频出现，绕得不少同学团团转却不自知，是当之无愧的大坑货，而今天的避坑指北主要就是教大家躲避它。
首先，在雅思听力Part 3中，最常出现的虚拟语气长什么样呢？
来看到下面几个从剑雅真题听力Part 3音频中摘取的句子：
I think we could have done a bit more work at the beginning …
剑5-Test 3
They should have focused on people with low literacy levels …
剑13-Test 4
We had some terrible arguments and I would have died rather than apologise to him.
剑15-Test 1
没错，就是粗体的could/should/would have done（当然还有它们的否定形式），剑桥大学出版社的语法书English Grammar in Use (4th edition) 对could/should/would have done的使用是这么解释的：Something could have happened = it was possible but did not happen (Page 54)，也就是使用could have done 表示过去原本能却没有发生/做；You should have done something= you didn't do it, but it would have been the right thing to do (Page 66)，也就是使用should have done表示过去本应该却没有发生/做；We use would have (done) when we imagine situations or actions in the past (=things that didn't happen) (Page 72)，也就是使用would have done表示过去原本会但没有发生/做；
综上，这几种表达后面所承接的内容真实性都恰恰相反，而干扰就是这么来的。
接下来我们看到刚刚几个例句分别对应的题目，进一步理解虚拟语气在Part 3中是怎样挖坑的。
1）剑5-Test 3第25题（填空）
题干：too much work in of the course - could be more evenly balanced.
语义：在课程中的某个阶段堆积了太多课业，应该更合理地安排时间。
我们要听的就是哪个阶段堆积了太多课业。
音频中使用虚拟语气引导干扰信息I think we could have done a bit more work at the beginning …（我们原本可以在一开始多下点功夫 也就是一开始没怎么弄，和题干语义相反），同学们一激动就把the beginning当成了答案，而事实上，正确答案紧跟在这句话后面I thought it was going to be really easy and then all of a sudden in the second half of the course we got a whole load of work.
2）剑13-Test 4-Section 3（多选）
题干：Which TWO things are true about the participants in the study on the traffic-light system?
这个语义好理解，我们要听的是关于被研究者的正确描述。
这道多选题中有原词干扰选项A：They had low literacy levels. （他们的文化水平低下）
而原文使用虚拟语气引导原词，挖了个简单明了的坑：They should have focused on people with low literacy levels …（他们本应该着重研究文化水平低下的人 à 也就是没这么做，与题干相反），很多同学直接忽略should，以为是完成时。
3）剑15-Test 1-Part 3（多选）
题干：Which TWO experiences of sibling rivalry do the speakers agree has been valuable for them?
干扰项E. learning to say sorry
对应音频原文：We had some terrible arguments and I would have died rather than apologise to him.
这道题使用虚拟语气和否定形式rather than引导干扰项say sorry的同义替换apologise，意思是“我宁可死都不要向他道歉”，与题干语义相反，在这里，能听到虚拟语气或否定形式任意之一均可以判断干扰。
含有虚拟语气干扰信息的题目远不止这些，而且往往搭配转折、否定和条件引导词出现，在Part 3（甚至Part 4和其他部分）给考鸭挖坑，而虚拟语气的形式也不止上面说到的几种，听力中出现比较多是过去形式的虚拟，但现在和将来形式的虚拟也有涉及，希望大家可以好好补足这部分知识，完美避坑，收获目标分。

Well, I would like to tell you about a pair of ripped jeans that are my favorite item among all the things I have in my wardrobe.
You know, I bought them for an unbelievably cheap price a long time ago in a second-hand clothing store. At that point, ripped jeans were really popular and everybody in my school was keen on them. So, whenever I put these jeans on, I felt really stylish and thought I really stood out from the crowd. After a while though, trends started to change, but I refused to abandon my jeans. I wore them almost everywhere, from home to school and only changed them for formal events such as a ceremony or a wedding. Sometimes I even slept in my jeans because they were so comfortable.
Actually, it is quite easy to understand why I fancy these jeans so much. Firstly, they instantly create a stylish and fashionable look for the wearer. Secondly, jeans are easy to mix and match and I can wear them with heaps of different shirts without worrying about looking ridiculous in other people’s eyes. And lastly, denim is so tough that it can’t be torn, so I can have them for a long time and save a great deal of money.
All in all, I love my jeans and cannot get through a day without them. I think such an item should be made trendy again so that the youngsters nowadays can really get to know their awesomeness.

Older people are often uninterested in fashion and more interested in what looks good on them or what is comfortable. They want you to say “you look very nice” rather than “that is a nice outfit”. They often find the idea of “fashion” a manipulaton to make people buy more stuff.
Fashion is for the young. Older people already have a full closet of things they like.
