More and more people are becoming seriously overweight. Some people say that raising the price of fattening food will solve this problem. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

A conundrum of modern societies is the declining level of health in the general population, such as corpulence, with conflicting views on how to tackle this worrying trend. One possible remedy is to increase the price of fattening food to encourage a healthier diet.

Admittedly, such practice could to some extent alleviate the tension. Advocates of this solution deem that today’s prevalent food delivery services and easy-to-reach oily food mean that dietbeverage and food are no longer part of some citizens’ lives. If the price of such high-calorie food was raised, the general public who live on a tight budget would be more likely to consume cheaper yet low-fat alternatives, rather than just collapse in front of screen every evening, with fried chicken and cola in hand. However, such measure fails to uproot the problem, since the relatively rich may not be acute to the raising price.
