I hail from a big family, and there are numerous instances when my family members have made me feel proud. Recently one such occasion happened.Two months back, my nephew took part in a dance reality show.Although he is just eight years old, the way he dances, it seems like he is around 15 years old.Before taking part in the reality show, he carved out a niche in the hip-hop dance format. Before participating in the show, he was nervous, but when I had a pep talk with him, he got his mojo back and gave his best performance.
Despite being short of practice, he performed well in the presence of celebrity judges.The prominent reason for being proud of him is that he worked hard at such a tender age with determination, dedication and discipline.During his performance, he remained confident and never felt nervous.Despite a humble beginning, he has led his dancing career towards an impressive growth trajectory. When his performance was going on, I was busy with my office work. I got a call from my sister, and she told me that my nephew had won the first prize.He came out to be the best performer among 90 participants from various parts of the country. His triumph put a broad smile on the faces of all of our near and dear ones.
He is not only a seasoned dancer but also a brilliant student.Within a few minutes of winning the competition, his pictures went viral on various social media platforms. Immediately after getting free from work, I called him, and while talking, he started crying. After talking to him, I was in a state of euphoria, and I threw a party in my office. Now, all children in my family seek flashes of inspiration from him.
He has become a role model not only for our family but also for our neighbourhood.Taking inspiration from him now even I have started honing my dancing talent.

然后我又去搜了很多类似的视频，不出所料，只有极少数的几个视频使用的“VS”的读音是正确的。

1.VS = versus
VS是单词versus的缩写，读作 [?v??rs?s]，这是一个介词，意思是“以…为对手；对”，比如马龙 VS 水谷隼就是“马龙对水谷隼的比赛”。
versus有三种缩写形式，除了VS，还可以写成VS.和V，只不过前两种是美式英语的写法，最后一种是英式英语的写法。以后，再看到这些缩写的时候，可别再读错了哦！

2.VR = virtual reality

那么VR和AR具体有什么区别呢？
简单来说，VR（虚拟现实）是用计算机创造的一种虚拟世界；而AR就在现实世界的基础上，将模拟的信息应用到现实世界中，两种信息互为补充，从而实现对真实世界的“增强”。
3. AI = artificial intelligence
相信大家对于AI（人工智能）都不陌生，现在，AI技术已经应用到我们生活中的方方面面。
几年前，在围棋大赛上赢了柯洁的AlphaGo就是一个人工智能机器人。
AI的全称是 artificial intelligence，artificial是一个形容词，意思是“人工的，人造的”，比如“人造湖”就是artificial lake，“假花”可以说artificial flowers；“人工呼吸”也可以用这个词，叫做artificial respiration。
intelligence 则是“智力，智慧”的意思，IQ里的“I”就是intelligence的缩写，intelligence test 就是智商测评，“高智商”就可以说high intelligence，“低智商”则是low intelligence。
4.APP
大家对APP（手机软件，应用程序）都非常的熟悉，我们每天都要用到各种各样的APP，而你们是不是也都把它叫做“A-P-P”呢？
这其实也是不对的，APP的正确读音应该是[?p]，它是application 的缩写，这个词本身就是“应用软件，应用程序”的意思。
除此之外，application 还有“书面申请，申请表”的意思，比如“护照申请表”就可以说 application form for passport。
5.ETC
开车的人应该都非常了解 ETC 是做什么的，它的全称叫做Electronic Toll Collection，意思电子收费系统。
我们国家的高速公路是收费的，所以在高速入口和高速出口都会设有收费站，如果我们开车走高速的话，就要缴纳高速费。
以前高速收费站全部是人工收费，但是近几年ETC变得流行起来，不用停车，电子系统就会自动识别车牌号以及走高速路段所产生的费用，并自动扣费，节省了人力和时间成本。
在这里，要重点说一下 toll 这个词，toll指的就是“道路、桥梁等的通行费”，或者“长途电话费”，toll bridge/road 就是需要交费通行的桥或公路，而这种收费道路设置的收费站就叫做 tollbooth，也可以叫做tollgate。
